There are three centers in us all. These three centers govern the intellectual, emotional and intuitive aspects of our nature. My most recent body of work are expressions from the intuitive center. The subject is not tangible. I’m inspired by paint itself, imbued with energy and by vibrating colors and how they harmonize and contrast with one another. The subject is pre-thought. It is the potent energy of the present; the paint captures the energy of that intent.
My prior work was painted from the intellect or the heart using literal subjects. Temporal constraints and literalism can melt away when painting from this third center. The intuitive center can be our conduit to the infinite, as it is not bound by only four dimensions. I describe it as “cage-free painting.”
